Liaison International, a stable, fast-growing, and profitable (for 20 years) company that specializes in providing state-of-the-art information technology products and services to educational associations, accrediting agencies, institutions of higher education, and health professions, is seeking a candidate with skills and experience in Web application development to join our talented team of developers and take on high profile projects immediately. Positions are available in our Watertown, MA office as well as our Buffalo, NY office.
What you need for this position:
- At least 1-3 years of MVC-based web application development experience (public-facing web application experience a plus)
- Solid SQL experience (developing queries and stored procedures)
- Experience with the Apache/Linux environment (LAMP development experience a plus)
- Working knowledge/experience with HTML/Javascript/CSS (experience with AJAX and Javascript libraries such as Ext JS/JQuery is a plus)
- Understanding of source control systems and best practices (Subversion or Git a plus)
- Experience working in a client-facing application development environment
What you'll be doing:
- Creating new web applications leveraging Perl (including Moose/Catalyst), Ruby on Rails, and other open source technologies
- Enhancing and extending Liaison's library of existing public-facing global web applications
- Developing standardized modules and tools to speed time-to-market of our applications
- Working with Java, XSL, and Apache FOP to generate streamlined PDFs of information from our web applications
- Assisting in data analysis and reporting against our MS SQL Server databases
- Participate in research on newer cloud-based technologies such as Amazon S3 for use in our environment
