Software Documentation Writer
Position Description
Liaison International, a stable and fast growing company that specializes in providing state-of-the-art information technology products and services to educational associations, accrediting agencies, institutions of higher education and health professions, is seeking professionals who want to contribute their knowledge and talents to creating lifetime relationships with our customers while helping to create a positive and productive atmosphere in which to work. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience in writing documentation for web-based software applications and business processes to join our talented team. The Documentation Writer will take ownership for creation and production of technical and end-user documentation for all software products. This person will plan, develop, publish, and maintain detailed technical and end-user documentation, instructions guides, in print and online formats.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher
- 3+ years experience in writing technical documentation for software products
- Direct experience working with Internet development technologies teams
- Proficiency with MS Office, Visio
- Skills in graphic or desktop publishing applications, HTML a plus
- Excellent organization, communication and writing styles
- Proven experience in writing technical documentation
- Thorough knowledge of the product development process
- Advanced skills in technical writing and capable of authoring clear and concise documentation
- Must be self-motivated, adaptable, hands-on,
- Extremely detailed oriented
The successful candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to do the following:
- Design, write, produce and maintain software technical and user documentation, update manuals and release notes
- Work closely with both the Development, Q.A., and Support Departments
- Acquire and maintain a functional and operational knowledge of products
- Coordinate documentation deliverables and production activities with internal and external organizations
- Contribute to the software development process as it relates to the end-user
- Design and execute innovative documentation strategies
- Work both in a team environment and independently
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and multi-task
- Ability to adapt to adjusted production priorities
- Show willingness to learn domain-specific concepts and terminology
