Ruby on Rails Developer

Liaison International, a stable, fast-growing, and profitable (for 20 years) company that specializes in providing state-of-the-art information technology products and services to educational associations, accrediting agencies, institutions of higher education, and health professions, is seeking a candidate with skills and experience in the area of software development. Positions are available in our Watertown, MA office as well as our Buffalo, NY office.

What you'll be doing:

The candidate will be working on a variety of projects, including:

  • Enhancing and extending Liaison's existing Ruby on Rails web applications
  • Creating new applications leveraging Ruby on Rails and other open source technologies
  • Developing standardized modules and tools for our code library to speed our time to market
  • Helping us develop a solid release/deployment management framework

What you'll need for this position:

  • 3+ years of MVC-based web application development experience, including proven experience in Ruby on Rails
  • Solid SQL experience (developing queries and stored procedures)
  • Experience with the Apache/Linux environment
  • Working knowledge/experience with HTML/Javascript/CSS/AJAX
  • Understanding of source control systems (Subversion / Git a plus)
  • Experience working in a dynamic, client-driven development environment
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
