QA Analyst

Liaison International, a stable, fast-growing, and profitable (for 20 years) company that specializes in providing state-of-the-art information technology products and services to educational associations, accrediting agencies, institutions of higher education, and health professions, is seeking a candidate with skills and experience in the area of Software Quality Assurance (QA). This position requires a solid understanding of web applications, relational databases and SQL queries, as well as automated & manual testing methods. Positions are available in our Watertown, MA office as well as our Buffalo, NY office.
What you'll be doing:
- Understanding and translating functional requirements/specifications into working test plans and/or test cases
- Taking a lead role in the development and execution of test plans and procedures, working hand-in-hand with developers
- Document tests and report results to developers and to management using strong verbal and written communication skills
- Seeking efficiencies through test automation where possible
What you'll need for this position:
- 3 years of solid quality assurance (QA) experience for Web-based applications
- Well-versed in software QA best practices, processes, and tools (Mercury, TestLink, Selenium, etc)
- Strong familiarity with SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server a plus)
- Experience in working with software specifications and documentation
- Excellent analytical, debugging, planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Extremely detail-oriented & comfortable working with developers
- Experience with version control systems (Subversion, Git, CVS, etc) and issue trackers (Trac, JIRA, etc) a strong plus
- Experience in developing dynamic websites using Perl, CGI, Python, PHP, HTML/JavaScript is a plus
