Controller

Position Description:
Liaison International, a stable and fast growing company that specializes in providing state-of-the-art information technology products and services to educational associations, accrediting agencies, institutions of higher education and health professions, is seeking a Controller. The Controller will be responsible for the design and execution of the Company’s finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have the skills and maturity to develop and implement the Company’s financial, business, and operational strategies and will be capable of working with all levels of personnel internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of finance and/or accounting experience, ideally 2-4 years in public accounting;
  • Significant experience with monthly financial management and preparing financial statements according to GAAP;
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to do the following:
  • Day-to-day accounting and finance matters, including process improvement and the maintenance of appropriate internal controls;
  • Working with the executive team to develop an accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends;
  • Reporting on performance vs. plan, and revising forecasts as necessary;
  • Preparing financial presentations and analysis for the executive team, the board of directors, and company meetings;
  • Familiarity and ability to implement the appropriate financial and accounting software applications to efficiently manage the business;
  • Supervising AR/AP, billing, payroll, employee expense, and bank reconciliation procedures;
  • Closing the books monthly, and providing weekly “key metrics” reports and analysis to the executive team;
  • Working with lenders to ensure proper and timely principal and interest payments and to monitor appropriate financial ratio tests.

  • Ability to show extreme attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, hands-on, and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and multi-task
