Community Relations

Liaison is a proponent of diversity and social awareness through our practices. We are pleased to support the following projects:

Images & Voices of Hope World Summit

In September 2010, Liaison was pleased to sponsor a team of students from Champlain College who spoke at the Images & Voices of Hope World Summit on “Inspiring Media in an Open Source World”. This student team, majoring in emergent media, presented the game they designed for the UN to help prevent violence against women. The game has been designed to provide alternatives for youth to violent behavior against women: see http://www.breakawaygame.com.

Images & Voices of Hope is a global dialogue dedicated to strengthening the role of media as agents of world benefit. Its mission is to expand awareness of the choices those in media make that raise public trust, generate constructive meaning, and amplify human hope, enhancing humanity's capacity for life-promoting action. For more information on the Images and Voices of Hope, see www.ivoh.org

The Emergent Media Center is an academic center whose mission is to educate and inspire next generation media creators and leaders by addressing and creating solutions to the "wicked problems" facing our collective future. Through a collaborative, exploratory design cycle, the EMC transforms education, processes, and media while enlightening our college community, our partners, and our global community.

Holiday Giving

Over the past three years, Liaison employees have enjoyed sponsoring more than 150 children in the Christmas in the City program, a volunteer-run nonprofit supporting and mentoring homeless families in Boston, Massachusetts.

Sodas for Charity

Each month by contributing our deposit bottle proceeds., we are pleased to support Beaverbrook STEP, Inc., a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities in Belmont, Waltham, Watertown and surrounding communities

Belmont Food Pantry

Collections are made on a continuing basis for The Belmont Food Pantry, a non-profit, volunteer organization serving the Town of Belmont by providing food for Belmont residents with transitional needs (i.e., job loss, illness that created unexpected medical bills, marital problems, changing family responsibilities, disabilities).

Dragon Boat

Since 2004, Liaison has been proud to sponsor a team to race in the Boston Dragon Boat Festival held annually in June on the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Town of Watertown

Liaison is proud to have supported the Police and various other events in the town of Watertown, Massachusetts.

Cell Phones for Soldiers

We are pleased to be an unofficial collection site for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program, which turns old cell phones into prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas.

Cooking for a Cause

In 2011 we initiate ‘Cooking for a Cause,’ which features cooking skills of our staff. Tasters pay a fee to judge a cookoff winner; all proceeds will be matched by Liaison and will benefit a staff-suggested nonprofit organization.
